MPL ID S11 using Samsung is real. What is the view of EVOS Legends?
MPL ID S11 using Samsung. For the first time in the history of MPL, Moonton has decided that it will be Samsung that the players will wear when competing, having collaborated with this brand since the MPL ID S6.
At the MPL ID S11 press conference, MPL confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G device will be used by all players throughout the season.
This is a new fact and a challenge for the players, because it is common knowledge that the S22 is not a common device that is usually their main cellphone.
Even so, the players have been practicing and testing the device since last December 2022, meaning that MPL has given all teams time to adapt to this device.
Regardless of all the pros and cons, the mindset of fans when they know that Samsung is the chosen device certainly leads to EVOS Legends.
As we know, EVOS Legends is the only MPL ID team that has experienced competition with this device on IESF WEC 2022. They also won the title with Samsung.
MPL ID S11 using Samsung, does it affect EVOS Legends?
ONE Esports also asked about the MPL ID S11 using Samsung to EVOS Legends analyst, Steven Age. As a team that has experienced the device for a longer time, of course there are its own views.
Age said that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G was almost on par with previous devices. The fact is that even in the IESF, it is believed that the Samsung that is used is not that good.
“Regarding the device, I can’t say that we fully benefit from it, because at that time we didn’t use Samsung, which had a high framerate and couldn’t get 120 Hz,” he said exclusively.
“For now I say it is on par (with the Iphone), because at the time of the IESF the HP was not optimal. Now what sponsors and Moonton have provided is maximized.”
“All teams will use the maximum device. Maybe it’s just a habit of the handle (grip) because the size is different from before. Maybe that’s the only thing that benefits EVOS Legends who have used it at IESF. Performance-wise, it’s the same as the iPhone.”
“Objectively, the tournament device is probably better than the old one. But for the current Samsung, which can already have high framerate with ultra settings, it’s not much different.”
“Unusual because of its size and shape. It’s just the shape of the handle that’s problematic because the specs aren’t far off after we try it. It’s no problem at all and the kids can just play comfortably,” he concluded.
Only time will finally be able to show whether or not the MPL ID S11 with Samsung is strong for competition in the tournament later.
